back in the swing of things
I think it's pretty clear that I'm rather mentally unbalanced. I'm cool with that.
I think it's also pretty clear that I have very strange goals and attempt feats that no other normal human would do. Like reading every single BSC book in order. Well, it's been almost three months since I finished doing that, and I figure it's time to indulge in some more of my insanity.
So I'm watching every single episode of Xena, plus all bonus features (including watching episodes a second time with commentary, when applicable). In order.
Actually, even though I don't think there's a single episode of Xena that I haven't seen at least 3 times, I've never seen the series in order. I didn't start watching until the fourth season, and I never caught it in complete reruns on TV. My senior year of college, when I completed my collection of every episode on VHS, I watched most of them again, but not in any sort of order. Now I've got the first four seasons on DVD and am working on the last two, and I'm loving the bonus features. So I have to do it in order, starting from the beginning.
This is a totally new feat for me. A new, pointless, stupid, mind-numbing feat. But if it means I no longer spend my days watching Full House and Boy Meets World on mute just to have movement on the TV screen, I'll take it.
And in a few months, y'all can call me even crazier. Because either I'll have lost my marbles searching out subtext, or I'll fancy myself a pre-common-era sword-bearing superhero with a hottie sidekick. EIther way, no good can come of this.
But I have to try.

Oh wait, is today October 9th?
Disclaimer: All previously promised posts not actually completed and posted in the last month should be forgotten. Clean slate. Pressure's off. Moving on.
Accepting the stereotype that guys are slightly oblivious, I can be SUCH a guy sometimes.
Today was Lauren's and my two year wedding anniversary. We didn't do anything elaborate. We went to Pizza Luce, since they catered our wedding. We had talked about taking our food to the pavilion where we were married, but it was just much too cold, and honestly, today it was a fight for me to even leave the house.
But then I found out that I'm oblivious. Turns out Lauren bought a cheesecake for dessert (that was our dessert at our wedding, even though I never even saw them, let alone ate one--hm, so maybe I was just keeping tradition!) as well as a sparkling juice drink.
They've been sitting in our fridge for days. On top of things I look at and touch every day. And I honestly and truly DID NOT SEE THEM.
Yeah, I'm that oblivious.
Yes, I'm laughing at myself.
Yes, I wonder what other kinds of oblivious things I do that amuse and/or annoy my wife on a daily basis. She's a good wife. She puts up with a lot.
But at least she gets good stories out of it.

MY BOYS RULE!!!!!
THE TWINS ARE THE 2006 CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPS AND I WAS THERE TO SEE IT!!!!!!!
We're off to Kol Nidre services now, but expect a gushing entry tonight when I get home!! For now I'll just say that I love the Twins, I love Minnesota, and I love the positive spirit of the people here who cheer people on instead of bashing the opponents!
