Where we live (not a big black hole)

I wrote out a great entry and then closed the window. There goes another tidbit of my genius, lost to the world forever.

Anyway, we've been living here for about 3 months now, and people have been asking for pictures. Even though I haven't even talked to Pam since we moved, I can imagine her saying, "Rebecca, I need pictures. I keep picturing you floating around in a big black space."

We haven't complied because, frankly, it's been a big ole mess. I unpacked about 90% of our stuff the day it arrived and left the last 10%, most of which affected Lauren, for us to do together. We finally got it done last week, with the exception of a little bit of mess that we don't have room for and will be existing in messy prominence until we move out.

We've also finally begun decorating for a change. We're not done yet, but we're having fun. We're working on a picture wall of family and friends for the living room, but acquiring enough frames from Goodwill that can all be painted the same color is taking a good amount of time.

So even though our last place was so much nicer looking, and so much more homey, we've finally caved and taken pictures. One here, the rest after the jump.

The living room:

The kitchen:

The bathroom (lucky you -- you can't see the pink tile in the tub!):

The dining room/office:

The bedroom (originally a dorm room):

Thrilling, huh?

Huh... so THAT's what it looks like. I always wondered, having lived in that dorm.

And you have to admit, Fairkid had the best storage spaces.

Very nice! I wish I had a knack for decorating. Although you said it wasn't as homey, I really like what the two of you have done w/ the space!

I love your bed. It looks so cozy.

Is that your ketubah over the stereo?

i totally love all the wood there... is the blue and green dots thing a curtain or are those hanging beads... and if they are hanging beads, where did you get them? they totally look cool.

Meghan - this is it in all its glory, although the pictures don't show the patched walls and the filth. What do you mean about the storage space?

Mary - Thank you! Our last place was so much nicer that it's hard to see it that way, especially with the stuff that there isn't room to store sitting out, but we're doing our best.

bean - Our bed is WONDERFULLY cozy! We have the best bedding ever, thanks to our wedding registry. So soft and warm... Our ketubah is the framed thing hanging above the brown chair; the thing on the stereo is just an art print.

Sky - the dots are a "bead curtain", sort of. We got it at Cost Plus World Market, and it's made of capiz shells. It's supposed to be a bead curtain for a doorway, but it was too wide for any of our doors.
